I do not have the updating schedule that many of my other co-bloggers do, but I wanted to make a point to say that for the month of July it is entirely possible I will fall off the radar. I will be flying to Italy on Saturday for a month-long archaeological dig at the 18th mile of the Appian Way – the town of Genzano di Roma. While I have a laptop and I am told that the internet at the hotel that I am staying at is “very good”, I’m not sure how much time or energy I will have to come up with anything really worthwhile as a post. I have a poor enough track record in posting as it is, but didn’t want people to think that I am not staying updated.
To say that I am not nervous about this is an understatement.
Ah well.
Thanks for reading, and I’ll either see you sometime in July or shortly thereafter!
Happy travels have fun and be safe
Thanks!
you are welcome
Safe travels :).
Thank you!
Safe travels and good luck it sounds exciting. Also is it possible for you to post alittle about the dig after you’re done? What in particular will you be studying at Genzano di Roma during your dig?
It’s an archaeological dig through Montclair State University. Basically this is the third season in excavation of the “Villa of the Antonines”, a Roman Villa that dates back into the 100s, possibly from the later half of the 1st century CE. I’ll be over there for a month, so it’ll be an adventure.
Thank you for the well wishes!
